Teacher: Mehvish Qayam

I am very fortunate to be part of the TMC team for the past four years. My bachelor's degree is in Elementary Education, and I have been teaching for over ten years. Four of those years I taught kindergarten, first grade, and fifth grade at a full-time Islamic School in Florida. The remainder of those six years I taught at two public schools, including one in Greensboro. In addition to my teaching experience, I have been taking Islamic courses for over ten years in subjects such as Arabic, Tajweed, Qur'an and Hadith. I am a mother of a sweet toddler and I understand the importance of setting the foundation of Islam so our children can succeed in the dunya and akhirah while living in America. I believe it is a privilege to teach Islamic Studies to children and I hope to instill the love of Allah (swt), our beloved prophets and our deen in them, insha'Allah.
